¡Buenos dias a todos! This is Davis, Nate, and Tristan.
We want to share our experiences learning about Rosario’s clinic and exposure to a typical Guatemalan lunch and church service.
At the beginning of the day, we visited Rosario’s clinic where we learned about the way the clinic impacts regular Guatemalan people. Rosario’s clinic provides affordable healthcare to people who would otherwise not be able to receive it. The most exciting part of this relationship between the church and the clinic was when we were able to present her with the check for 28 water filters. This continues our everlasting collaboration and shows we are long term partners- not short term heroes.
After touring the clinic, we were invited to lunch by the youth group and shared an amazing meal together. Subsequently, all the youth made their way into the church service where we all had a once in a lifetime experience. We were able to share our culture with them by singing at the front of the church. Even though the service was in Spanish and Mam, which is a native Guatemalan language, all of us were able to understand the message of unity between our church and theirs.
Ultimately, over the past few days, we have cultivated amazing relationships with our prayer partners. It was a sad moment to say goodbye, but it was a happy moment realizing that this is just the beginning of our friendship. This was not a goodbye, but a see you soon.
